The Mid-Hants Railway is a preserved steam railway operating in Hampshire UK, between Alresford and Alton and fondly known as the "The Watercress Line". After being saving in 1973, the line re-opened in 1977. The army of loyal volunteers raised enough money to link up with the South West Trains at Alton in 1985.
Sunday Lunches on the Watercress Line are proving to be very popular and must be booked well in advance. A day out on the line which is very well recommended. On Sunday, 25th May 2009, the West Country Class Locomotive 34007 did the honours admirably, giving a wonderful afternoon to remember.
